It’s tough to be young in the real estate business, where many clients prefer to work with seasoned Realtors rather than novices. But one rookie is making his youth work for him. Jeff Pisano, 26, an associate at Siderow Kennedy Real Estate in Chappaqua, has leveraged a large network of 20-something friends to land a ton of business in his first year on the job. In eleven months at Siderow Kennedy, he has sold eleven properties, totaling more than $2.5 million. A twelfth property is now in contract.
“Jeff has a lot of things going for him, both personally and demographically,” explains Sheila Siderow, President of Siderow Kennedy Real Estate. “His friends are buying their first homes, and their parents are selling their homes because they’re ready to downsize. They work with Jeff because he is intelligent and hardworking, and they know he is backed by an experienced real estate firm.”
Born in New Rochelle and now a resident of Bronxville, Pisano attended Bronxville High School, graduating in 1996, and earned his B.S. in 2001 from Iona College with a major in finance and a minor in marketing. His first job was with JP Morgan Chase, but he says he could not see himself sitting at a desk crunching numbers for the rest of his life. “I am very much a people person and enjoy the challenge of meeting new people each day,” Pisano explains. “It makes me happy to actually help people achieve their dream of owning a home.”
As a people person, Pisano has made many friends along the way – friends who have become clients. “Going to school locally helped,” he says, “because many of my college buddies have remained in Westchester.” He has also worked with re-location clients who were referred by people at JP Morgan Chase.
Siderow Kennedy is using Pisano to create more of a presence in Bronxville and Southern Westchester. “Our roots are in Chappaqua but we’ve grown, and now represent all of Westchester and will soon be expanding into Putnam,” Ms. Siderow says. “We want to find the right house for each client, and we will go with them wherever they want to go.”
